Click latency is the input-to-registration delay: the time between physically pressing a mouse button and your computer actually registering that press. It's measured in milliseconds (ms). A snappy modern mouse adds only a handful of milliseconds, but settings and hardware choices can stack up extra delay you never notice individually.
It's distinct from network ping and from display lag. Click latency is purely the front of the chain — getting your intent from finger to operating system as quickly as possible.
