What this measures. A browser can't see your monitor or USB cable, so this is the input-to-processing latency inside your system, not total click-to-photon latency. It's still an excellent way to compare devices and to track whether your latency is creeping up over time.

Click Latency FAQ

Why does latency matter?
In fast games, every millisecond between intent and action counts. Lower, more consistent latency feels snappier and more reliable.
How do I lower it?
Use a 1000Hz polling rate, close background apps, disable mouse acceleration, and prefer a wired or high-quality wireless connection. Full guide: Mouse Click Latency explained.
My numbers jump around — why?
Background CPU load and browser scheduling add noise. Run it a few times with other apps closed for a cleaner reading.
